Status Charts

Each of the 95 groups has a unique status chart linked on its group-gallery page, just below the delivery sequence. The charts are updated in the background—by a human being—according to details provided in progress reports.

ROWS and COLUMNS

The top two rows show the relationship between the calendar and the schedule. Each of the next five rows represents one, specific collage. Each collage has a unique ID—the group number plus a letter (a—e). The name of the originator appears in the September/STAGE 1 column, and again in the February/STAGE 6 column. In between, the names of the contributors are listed left to right, stage by stage, month by month, according to the delivery sequence. Delivery to HQ and arrival at HQ are listed on the far right at the end of the sequence.

COLOR KEY

The color key should not be associated with any columns. It’s laid out in a row, i.e., horizontally, for design purposes only.
In this sample, Ali’s original has been sent, and is on its way to Jennifer. Christine’s original has been sent, and Pete has received it. The other three collages have not yet been sent. In September, nothing can be behind schedule, but if the chart looked like this on the 1st of October, only Christine’s collage would be on time.

  1. An unambiguous report such as, “I sent my starter today,” will surely result in an updated status chart. An equally unambiguous comment such as, “I’ll send my starter next week,” will result in no update. An ambiguous report may or may not result in an updated chart. The Group 46 status chart was updated according to the metaphorical report, “We’ve kicked off!” I can’t expect to comprehend all metaphors, but all reports are welcome.
