My collage is finally done; sorry it is late. It will be delivered in person tomorrow. I added two little painted canvases, so it will be 3D and reattached some bits that had come off.
I like how the aquatic theme worked out for this piece!

Sorry team for the delay on the Burger-Begley’s Faces Within collage. I am sending it out this week. Here’s the before and after to show what I did. I think this is my favorite collage we’ve done as a group! Since it’s face-themed, I thought it’d be cool to add a couple who are actually facing the opposite direction. And thanks to whoever included the semi-attached gold strip–i was able to peel it up and use it to fashion a halo for our lady. I was also inspired by our other collage to use thread as a material again, as you can see by the gold / yarn she’s “knitting.”
Happy to share that my starter made it back to me. I’ll be sending it back to headquarters this week. It was fun to see what all was added–I did really like the different elements (shoutout to Carole’s parrots for contributing!). I ended up adding quite a bit and moving some elements around to make it a bit more cohesive. See before and after. thanks all for the collaboration :-)

Today I mailed Sophie’s collage and Kay’s collage to Kay.
I’m so sorry for the delay with Sophie’s– I was very sick all Nov and up through Christmas and am just now getting back into life and catching up.
I added some feathers to Sophie’s, to echo the themes of flight and the vertical lines of the piece. I love the dimensionality of Kay’s so I put three layers of sheer black fabric on the lower right side and also a small crest which echoed some of the colors in the piece.

We added a needle felted flower, so hand spun yarn and wool fiber.

I’m sending out both Ann Marie and Carol’s collage in the mail tomorrow. I ended up having them at the same time, so I’ll be sending them together. I really enjoyed adding to both–a tidal pool / octopus-like image to our aquatic collage and a few additions to each panel of the postcard collage.
