Our group meditated on what often feels like the insufficiency of making art and proceeding with our everyday during a time of crisis in the world. When it came time to finish my starter collage, I had received 2 from Sarah (due to a postal delay, we had two circulating based on my original.) When working on finishing this, I thought about the inspiring conversations we had been in as a group and the final collage surfaced to me within this anxiety and insufficiency… how it is to confront enormous loss and unimaginable catastrophe in the world while still participating in aspects of life that are more “normal.”

I have enjoyed another collaborative collage cycle-my 4th, bringing out new waves of challenges, curiosity & creative endeavours…always against a backdrop drop, dropping of global destruction….art is my sanity, so thank you for this opportunity to grasp the fruit of the moon & rise above it all…

After all our group back-and-forth about whether we should make a statement in our collages this year, it led me to this.
When I received my original collage back, it felt weak — not because of all the additions, but because it lacked a clear purpose or direction. So I decided to make a statement, based on what I see as someone who lived in the U.S. for 30 years and is now living in France. I hope it makes it to Berkeley and doesn’t get destroyed in customs.

I received 2 collages from Eric- one with original from 48073 in an envelope of wonderful stamps…so I deconstructed the envelope from 48073 into the collage!! What fun! I look forward to seeing its last stages of evolution!

Hello everyone,
Happy to report that I’ve made progress on all three collages I received from Cora, and they’re all now on their way to Sarah.
The first one, titled BUG, just needed a background and a small signature sticker that I use on all my 2025 collages.
The second one is Artist 48073 – Second Starter (apparently meant to be joined with the first). In any case, I added my touch to it and I’m curious to see where this one goes.
The last one is Moon Barber — same thing here, I added whatever inspired me in the barber shop.
Sorry if this adds a bit of weight for shipping, but hey, what can we do?

After hours of soul-searching, I finally added… a mug and an old credit card of mine 😉

Finally today I´ve received the long waited envelope form 48073 ! Now the second starter came together with Simone´s one. and soon will be with Eric Peltier .
The idea was to work both 48073´s starter together, to merge them… let us see what comes out.

“Protection and Play”
When I made this piece, I was thinking about how we all need both comfort and fun in our lives. I chose penguins because they take such good care of each other, especially their chicks, and that really reminds me of family and friendship. The smiley faces were my way of adding some lightness and humor — a reminder that even when we’re protecting and caring for others, there’s always room to play and enjoy the moment.
This is the first small starter from 48073-It took long time to reach me , but finally I received it – Now it will fly to France for a new adventure
