Added some gems, other decor, and orange accents! Sent to Meredith last month (just forgot to update!)
Added more to the background and some red accents as well as some animal friends! On its way back to Meredith!

Hillary started her piece as a zine–a single page with 8 panels that folds into a small booklet…great idea! It came to me with one blank panel remaining so I filled it instead of adding to the other panels. I added RGBIV-colored dot punches to a paintbrush image. I don’t see a unifying theme from all of our additions, but it is colorful!

I have used Danika’s option of layering by adding a sample of my artistic friend’s painting as a “rib cage”. I loved how the colors of the waterside scene went with the teals and oranges of the original iteration. Can’t wait to see how this piece evolves.

Hi, y’all! This is my first time participating in this project! Here is the start of our group zine! Zines can be tiny books and are easily self published! Zines can be and look like anything we dream! Once we complete this, I will unfold the zine before I glue it, and I will photocopy it so I can make multiple copies to distribute with people! I can’t wait to see what stories unfold in our zine- whether they visual or textual or sensical or whimsical! The cover is pitcher plants and back cover is the place to find the pitchers- a long leaf pine savanna- one of my favorite habitats in Louisiana! I often go to the flat woods for moments of reflection, slowness curiosity, and peace! They are fire dependent ecosystems which always intrigues me! Now it is in transit to Meredith!

I have been collaging for the last 15 years and love working predominantly with color and narrative. This piece is only partially glued to the substrate so other contributors can attach beneath it or on top.

First time collage participant. I wanted to explore the stacked look of the dripping honey. And the concentric circles formed nicely around the already circular design on the cereal box. Since the rest of the background will most likely get covered, I figured I would use the existing “template” to my advantage.

The approach of autumn, with leaves changing color and dropping to the ground, inspired the start of my collage. I cut some leaf images from some nature books and tacked them to a piece of white cardstock, leaving the edges unattached so other group members can add layers underneath if desired. I also cut out three leaf shapes (orange in photo) to allow for paper to be placed on the back of the sheet to show through.
