EXHIBITION
A lot happens over six months. When Postal Collage Project No.14 wrapped up in spring 2025, we’d only ever had one participant from Pendleton, Oregon. Six months later, when Project No.15 launched, there were ten! This precipitous increase coincided with the establishment of the Collage Club in Pendleton, a monthly meet-up offering a space to share, document, and work on the Postal Collage Project—and other projects—side by side.
Ten collaborators in a city of around 17,000 makes Pendleton the city with the highest density of project participation—one in every 1,700 or so residents is on the collaborator list. In Berkeley, the city with the highest number of participants (47), one in every 2,650 or so residents is a participant.

Sometime in the next week or two, the 1,000th progress-gallery post will be published. Big thanks to the many contributors who have made the group galleries successful. The progress reports keep your fellow collaborators informed and help guide the works-in-progress through their cycles; the documentation adds life and depth to the project and enriches its history. A thousand thanks!
Full Circle
According to the schedule, collages-in-progress should be back in the hands of their originators by tomorrow, the 1st of February. If you’re holding a collage that you did not initiate, please do what you can to move it forward.
If your own original has not returned to you, be in touch with your fellow collaborators and keep me in the loop.
NOTE: There will be extra time after the final delivery deadline for finishing late-returning collages.
Completion
When your original collage has gone full circle, it’s yours to complete in any way you like. If you have questions or concerns, please be in touch.

Final Delivery
The final delivery deadline—the date by which your completed collage is scheduled to be at project headquarters—is the 1st of March.
When preparing to deliver your collage for exhibition, consider indicating its orientation—which way is up. Additional exhibition considerations HERE.
When your finished work is on its way, please let me know. You can expect confirmation by email when it’s received. Also, your status chart will be updated accordingly and a note will be added to your group gallery.

Full Circle
Collages-in-progress are scheduled to go full circle, i.e., return to their originators, by the 1st of February. Review the Timeline.
Stage 6—COMPLETION
When your original collage returns to you, it’s yours to complete in any way you like. If you’re entirely satisfied with it as-is, you may simply declare it finished and deliver it for exhibition. Otherwise, do whatever you will to make it what you want—and then deliver it. The final delivery deadline is the 1st of March.

Prepare Your Collage for Exhibition
The correct orientation of your collage may or may not be obvious to me. Yes, I have exhibited more than one collage upside down. Please consider indicating the TOP of your collage.
There is no size limit given in the project description. Nonetheless, a collage may be deemed too large to exhibit. Four to five hundred square inches may be considered an upper boundary. If you have questions, contact me: marty@berkeleycommonplace.org
The decision to frame a collage is the domain of the collaborators, chiefly the Principal Author. Unframed is the norm. About one in a hundred come framed.
